The Power of One
UJF’s Community Yom HaShoah Commemoration
Guest speaker: Jeannie Opdyke Smith
Jeannie Opdyke Smith, the daughter of Irene Opdyke, a Righteous Gentile who risked her life to save the lives of Jewish people during the Holocaust, will speak about her mother’s legacy, and the power of one person to make a difference.
As in prior years, UJF invites Holocaust survivors in the community to light memorial candles during the ceremony. Survivors who will be attending are encouraged to contact Lauren Steinberg, Director of UJF’s Jewish Community Relations Council at Lauren@ujf.org or 203-321-1373, ext. 104 so that we may announce your presence. We will also honor our veterans through the Color Guard.
