2023 Annual Meeting Marks Historic Year with UJF

It’s only fitting that for a historic year that saw UJF turn 50 years old that Federation would proudly welcome Gadeer Kamal Mreeh, The Jewish Agency of Israel’s first Druze emissary and the first Druze woman to become a Member of the Knesset as the guest speaker for the 2023 Annual Meeting at Temple Sinai.

The evening included a welcoming by Diane Sloyer, Chief Executive Officer, a communal candle lighting by Past President David Gordon, and a State of the Federation by UJF President, Michael Schlessinger.

Wendy Siegel was presented with the Harvey Peltz Award by Greg Waldstreicher, Volunteer Awards were presented by Diane Sloyer to The New Jewish Voice Editorial Committee: Meryl Gordon, Allison Greenbaum, Meryl Japha, Arlene Rosen, Nancy Schulman, Ellen Weber, and Sandy Golove. A slate of incoming UJF board members and a thank you to departing members was presented by David Gordon, Nominations Committee Chair and Past President, with Ellen Weber, Campaign Chair and UJF Past President offering closing remarks to conclude the 2023 Annual Meeting.
