Gary Jones Joins UJF As JCRC Director

United Jewish Federation of Stamford, New Canaan and Darien is pleased to announce that Gary Jones has been appointed as its Director, Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC).

Gary's role with the JCRC will include fighting antisemitism and working to safeguard the safety and security of the Jewish community,  promoting social justice and other Jewish values, work with interfaith and intergroup relations, promoting support for Israel, and partnering with elected leaders and government officials.

A business and finance attorney for the first part of his career, Gary left his legal practice when he was appointed the Regional Director of the ADL in Connecticut in 2010. Since that time, he has continued to lead Jewish nonprofit organizations in Connecticut, including the Jewish Federation of Western Connecticut where Gary served as its Chief Executive Officer. Gary has been writing and speaking throughout the State on antisemitism, the challenges facing Israel and growing concerns on American college campuses for nearly 25 years. Most recently, Gary delivered a talk about antisemitism and related hatred of Israel to the monthly diversity committee lunch and learn program at Northeast Utilities.

Gary holds a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Brandeis University and J.D. degree from New York University Law School. He and his wife Jill live in West Hartford. They have three sons and one granddaughter.
